Kozmo Gatsro Pub

Eighteen years ago I began my career in the restaurant industry and since then have explored and loved all that it has to offer. From fine dining to casually upscale ventures, in New York as well as Atlanta, I’ve developed, managed and/or owned several successful and innovative restaurants, such as The Globe, Atlanta Magazine’s “Restaurant of the Year” in 2006.

About a year and a half ago I had the wild idea to take the city to the suburbs and create an engaging and interesting – hence, sexy – destination, offering the sophisticated appeal of a big city restaurant without the big city inconveniences, or long commute. After further consideration I chose the gastropub concept, and worked with Judy O'Buck Gordon of O Architects on the design. The space is simplistic and fun, with a relaxed atmosphere that combines well our comfort food cuisine and high standards.

We selected an area of Johns Creek/Alpharetta, that’s just a bit off the beaten path, yet easily accessible. We are pleased to find a great sense of community where neighbors have warmly welcomed us. After more consideration, I decided to name it Kozmo, which is an acronym for Karen (my wife), Oswald, and Zöe (my daughter), and our last name Morgan. It's also a play on the classic cocktail and all that the word defines. Thus, Kozmo Gastropub has become a reality that I hope Johns Creek and Alpharetta residents will enjoy for years to come.
